Pennsylvania's Johnny Necro has risen from the grave with a bang, releasing two singles that were originally recorded in 2001 through Random Insanity Productions. With the help of We Are Horror Records, who he recently signed to, they have remastered the recordings. The two singles that were released will take you back to an earlier time of the Horror Punk scene. A time when everything sounded like a 50's sock-hop massacre. However, in this day and age it works, because it becomes original again with all the different styles that have evolved. I cannot wait to hear what comes out in the future to see how much his sound has matured since recording these two singles.
"Here Comes The Bride... Of Chucky" will grab your attention right away. The slowed style in traditional ballad form works for this song. It's like a punk rock slow dance at prom. The catchy beat and bellowing vocals will haunt your ears. These type of vocals remind me of a ghostly tone, it sneaks into your nervous system and lets face it, creeps you out a little.
"Love From Beyond" is like a psychadelic trip into the mind. It slinks in nice and slow with an extremely haunting overtone. Then it picks up speed and still holds that same creepy factor. I actually enjoy how this made me feel inside. I will also admit I had to look over my shoulder several times while listening. It's almost as if the music involves the listener and is honored to be your tour guide through the creep factor.
