Slay Belles are Ringadinging

OK, so I slept on this movie for a while as in like, four years seeing it was released in 2018. I kick myself in the ass knowing that I never showed interest in this movie because it has everything I need, kick ass final girls, a new look on Santa, and even Krampus. The whole movie is also full of laughs. It deserves to carry the name Dread Central with it. Even the acting is pretty on point, I can't really think of anything I didn't like about it to be honest.

The premise here is that three YouTube influencers (Kristina Klebe, Susan Slaughter and Hannah Wagner) decide to sneak into an abandoned Christmas village, or so they think. The rest of the time becomes a battle through the ages with Santa, (Barry Bostwick) on their side. They have to fight a new and improved Krampus. They also have to face the worlds bitchiest bartender (Diane Salinger) casting judgment and more.

What I found so interesting is that they revamped the entire idea of Santa Claus, who he is, what he can do and his alter ego definitely fits. It puts the magic back in the idea of the jolly dude in the red suit. You never know what to expect with this story, not that there's many twists, but it's just good writing. You can tell there was heart put into making this movie. Everyone involved did an excellent job from visual FX all the way up to costume choice. I honestly had a good time throughout this whole movie. You know who to root for and the twists and turns grab you in. Not that there is many misleading twists, the story is actually very thorough. The worst I could say was that it was a little too predictable at times, but it's easily forgivable when everything is fresh.

In the end, I suggest everyone see this movie, at least once for a fun way to spend the holidays. There is a lot of Christmas horror out there, and a lot of it is pure trash, not to say that I don't love trash movies. This however hit completely different and some parts even made me laugh out loud, which is really hard for even the best comedy horror. Cuddle up with some popcorn, eggnog, and watch some final girls kick major ass, Santa style!
