Top 5 Simpsons Episodes: Season 2

That's right I'm back! I am gonna do this season by season so get used to it! Anyways here we are, with season 2, so many golden episodes from the introduction to Blinky, and Homer getting hair. So sit back, relax, read... And hopefully laugh along!

Simpson and Delilah

In this episode, Homer gets hair and a whole new outlook on life. He gets a promotion and life is going swell until Bart spills Homer's hair tonic, it also involves one of the funniest quotes I have ever heard from this show. There are laughs throughout, with Homer's new ride-or-die assistant Carl, it was, unfortunately, the only episode that featured him. This episode goes down as one of my all-time favorites.

Game Show Host: Okay, the capital of North Dakota is named after what German leader?

Homer Simpson: Hitler!

Marge Simpson: Hitler, North Dakota?

Treehouse of Horror I

This episode still holds up as my favorite Treehouse of Horror, and believe me, there are many contenders that are worthy, but this episode still holds its ground. Growing up on horror, Amityville was one of my favorite movies, it was like the connecting piece between me and my mom, spending dinner time in the living room picking out a good horror. Here was a fun episode that I was able to look forward to. It featured so many great lines and showed the writers could hold their own on creativity.

Bad Dream House

In this segment, we see the Amityville parody that brought me in. In a hilarious move, Homer and Marge by an old Victorian home and soon it turns out to be haunted. Its still one of my favorite segments in all of the treehouse of horror.

Homer: Mr. Ploot, Homer Simpson here. When you sold me this house, you forgot to mention one little thing. You didn't tell me it was built on an Indian burial ground!

Homer: NO, YOU DIDN'T!

Homer: Well, that's not my recollection.

Homer: Yeah, well... all right. Good-bye.

Homer: He says he mentioned it five or six times.

Hungry Are The Damned

This one is not as close to me as Bad Dream House but I still love it. There are so many great gags in this segment with an even funnier ending. From the family being abducted and the struggle with Homer, to Lisa being a tad bit too smart "For her own good"

Kang: We offered you paradise. You would have experienced emotions a hundred times greater than what you call "Love". And a thousand times greater than what you call "Fun". You would have been treated like Gods, and lived forever in beauty, but now, because of your distrustful nature, that can never be.

Marge Simpson: Um, for a superior race they really rub it in.

The Raven

The Simpsons take on an Edgar Allen Poe story, and man it's fucking funny. Bart makes a great Raven and Homer's antics win the segment.

Bart: Wait a minute, that's a school book.

Lisa: Don't worry, Bart, you won't learn anything.

Dead Putting Society

This episode, contains one of my favorite quotes ever from this show, which I still use to this day, in everyday interactions. The idea of a mini golf tournament and placing ridiculous bets, it also taught me not to buy into a competition, a trait I still use. I was never competitive, and this reached me.

Homer: It wasn't how he said it either but the message was loud and clear: Our Family Stinks.

Marge: Homer, I'm your best friend, but I've gotta say, I've never seen him be anything but a perfect neighbor.

Homer: Oh, he's perfect now, is he?

Marge: Well, he's not perfect, but he is very...

Homer: No, no, Marge. Don't back pedal! You were right the first time. He's perfect. Perfect in every way. I'm just gonna go take a walk around the block to calm down. I got a little excited. I'm not perfect... like Ned Flanders.

One Fish Two Fish Blow Fish Blue Fish

This episode was my first experience with feeling emotions for a TV character, it still kind of makes me tear up, and then, it's all happy and loving again and pulls me right back in. Plus the guy singing Gypsies Tramps and Thieves still cracks me up. In this episode, we realize the fact that we don't live forever, and any day could be your last. Live your life, love your kids, and make sure you complete your list of things to do before you die.

The Way We Was

And finally my last, another one that reached into my guts. It gave me totally different feelings, I was involved deeply with the story in this episode. A true love story that makes you cheer at the end. We are also introduced to Artie, played by John Lovitz, he then went on to be in another episode or two, but nothing beats Jay Sherman's cameo.
